Drawdown: Imagining Ourselves as Part of the Solution to Reversing Global Warming

Reserve your spot for the Special 50th Anniversary Earth Day Online  Zoom Program sponsored by the MLUC Environmental Justice Team.

Deadline is April 13!

Program Date: Tuesday, April 21, 7:00 to 9:00 pm

The program will feature an introduction to Drawdown: Imagining Ourselves as Part of the Solution to Reversing Global Warming

Project Drawdown (www.drawdown.org) is an international research organization that reviews, analyzes, and maps out the most viable global climate solutions and shares these solutions with the world. Drawdown partners with communities, policymakers, non-profits, businesses, investors, and philanthropists to deploy science-based, effective climate solutions—as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible.  To date, Drawdown has identified, costed and ranked 100 currently available solutions to “reduce greenhouse gases by avoiding emissions or by sequestering carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere.”

Come via Zoom to meet Nancy Chernett and Dan Sutton, members of the Delaware River Valley Pachamama Alliance, as they present how Project Drawdown is shifting the global conversation from “doom and gloom” to one of possibility, opportunity, action, and empowerment. The interactive program provides participants an encouraging place to stand, and a clear idea on what actions we can take to contribute to reversing global warming.

Participation in this free, Environmental Justice team program, and open to MLUC and partner church members of Central Baptist Church and Saint David’s Episcopal.  Space is limited to 50 people on a first come basis. RSVP to Pam Kosty, pkosty@yahoo.com by April 13.
