Dr. Vincent Craig invites you to George Sprengelmeyer guitar concert. George Sprengelmeyer is a guitarist, music teacher, scholar, and arts administrator. In 2003 he was awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in guitar performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.  He made a recording of a “Celtic Suite”, his own arrangement of the Celtic harper Turlough O’Carolan’s music for the classical guitar, and wrote an article about the process that was printed in Soundboard Magazine in 2015. He has given concerts across the United States as well as performances in Ireland and Scotland.  He has been invited to give lectures and workshops about music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Mary Immaculata College in Limerick.  He recently presented a paper about the connection between Buddhism and the music of the minimalist composer John Cage at the Pacific Area for the Continental Tradition Conference in San Francisco and the Comparative and Continental Philosophy Conference in Leiden, Netherlands.  Dr. Sprengelmeyer is the Director of the Music Program and an Associate Professor of Music at Quinnipiac University, located in Hamden CT.  He is also the Artistic Director of the Frank J. Natale Concert Series.
