Justice in the Middle East (JME) is a group of members of the Main Line Unitarian Church who work to promote peace and justice in Israel-Palestine. JME affirms the right to equality, dignity, freedom, and security of all peoples involved.

Education and discussion within our congregation and in our community are important contributions toward the goal of justice. Accordingly, we strive to inform people instead of trying to form their beliefs. We also promote political action in support of justice, based on our understandings and beliefs.

We provide films, presentations, speakers and an opportunity for dialog at MLUC. We are affiliated with the national UU group UUJME www.uujme.org. Contact Gene Ramsbottom for more information. Suggestions for interesting programing welcome.

Beyond the Two-State Solution: A Presentation by Jonathan Kuttab

Thursday February 11, 2021, at 7:00 PM via Zoom

Zionism and Palestinian nationalism have been at loggerheads for more than a century. Some thought the two-state solution would resolve the conflict between them. In his book, Beyond the Two-State Solution, Jonathan Kuttab explains that the two-state solution is no longer viable and suggests that any solution must be predicated on the basic existential needs of both parties. Jonathan Kuttab is co-founder of Nonviolence International and a co-founder of the Palestinian human rights group Al-Haq. A well-known international human rights attorney, he has practiced in the United States, Palestine, and Israel.

In February 2020 Kuttab discussed his book at an event sponsored by MLUC, UUs for Justice in the Middle East, and Christian-Jewish Allies for a Just Peace in Israel/Palestine.
