What does it look like when trans and nonbinary people tell their own stories? Over four Zoom sessions, participants will hear from trans and nonbinary people and their families through Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and Their Families, then reflect, talk, and learn together.
The book, the Unitarian Universalist Association’s 2024–25 Common Read, pairs portraits with first-person interviews of trans and nonbinary people and their partners, parents, children, siblings, and chosen family. The Unitarian Universalists of Cumberland Valley (UUCV) has generously opened the discussion to MLUC members and friends, and Rev. Lisa Schilansky and MLUC staff invite you to join them. Come to learn, to listen, or because these stories touch your life or the life of someone you love. Everyone is welcome.
There is no cost to participate. The book is available to borrow in the MLUC Atrium, or you can purchase your own copy.
To participate, register with UUCV, and please also let Rev. Lisa know you’re signing up.
