UU Values of Love at the Center
Yvette McDonnell, Congregational Life Coordinator and Ministerial Intern
What does love truly mean to you? In what ways do we, as Unitarian Universalists, engage with love on both personal and communal levels? Love is a powerful force, shaped by layers of experience that unveil its complexity and depth. We often use the word “love” to express a variety of feelings, connecting us to people, passions, causes, and the natural world around us. However, this single word encompasses a vast spectrum of meanings that can vary significantly from person to person. Join Yvette McDonnell, Congregational Life Coordinator and Ministerial Intern, for a two-part sermon series that invites us to reflect on the concept of love and how it centers our shared values of justice, equity, and transformation. Next week’s sermon will continue to explore love as the central theme, along with the other UU values: pluralism, interdependence, and generosity.
