MLUC is a supporting member of the New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia, an immigrant-led, volunteer-driven, local
interfaith organization. Volunteers accompany people to immigration hearings, supply information to local businesses about the rights of their workers and customers, and run campaigns, such as their current effort to reform Pennsylvania’s driver’s license process for noncitizens. They also lead protests to build awareness of immigrant rights and to urge local
governments not to cooperate with ICE.
CURRENT ACTION
Every Wednesday at noon, New Sanctuary holds a prayer vigil outside the Philadelphia ICE office at 114 N. 8th Street that is led by priests, rabbis, imams, and ministers.
