The Right Relations Covenant Team has been very busy working on how best to guide the congregation’s creation of this covenant. We have been meeting with small groups to gather what is important to us as a congregation and what we love about MLUC. Thank you to all who have participated in our small group sessions (some are continuing). The next step for us is to help you craft the content of the covenant.

The small groups’ feedback has highlighted common themes; it has been rather consistent. We will use those themes to help the congregation develop the covenant. In December, the team will prepare for our next meetings with the congregation: after the service on Jan. 18 and Feb. 15. We will need as many of you as possible to participate in these sessions to craft our draft covenant. Our team will lead the sessions and guide this work.

Also, in November and December, the team will be at a table in the Atrium every Sunday after the service to get some initial thoughts on the themes before the January and February meetings and to answer any questions you may have. Or you can just stop by and say hello. We love chatting with you.

We want to remind everyone that this Right Relations Covenant is being built by you. Your participation is essential to our shared ministry journey that that be the case. We, the congregation, will define who we are and how we want to be in community with one another. Our team’s task is to develop how we engage the congregation in the creation of the covenant. The team coordinates efforts, scribes the feedback, and consolidates information, but this covenant is a congregational covenant from you and by you. We, the team, are enjoying this work tremendously and are excited to work with you and thank you for your partnership.

After the meetings in January and February, we will have another whole congregation meeting after the service on March 22 to share the final draft of the covenant. We hope to see you all there and to get some final tweaks.

As always, you can keep up-to-date on our timeline and what is going on and reach out to the team directly via our webpage.
