We’re Hiring for Our Faith Development Team for Children & Youth Ministries
We are looking for an energetic, motivated, and creative individual to join our team in a flexible, part-time capacity and contribute to our Faith Development program.
We have a variety of needs, and we know that the right person may bring strengths across more than one of these areas:
- Youth ministry with teenagers
- Organizing and supporting volunteers
- Curating and creating educational materials and resources for children, youth, and/or families
- Designing and developing curriculum for Pre-K through Grade 7
- Planning events and building community
- Welcoming and hospitality

General Description
Depending on their strengths and interests, the person in this role may:
- Take the lead in coordinating programs for youth in Grades 8–12, working collaboratively with youth, advisors, parents, lay leaders, ministry teams, and staff to deepen youth engagement and build community.
- Serve as a curriculum and resource assistant, preparing weekly activities for children in Pre-K through Grade 7 and coordinating with volunteers and parents.
- Staff and manage monthly family ministry events that foster connection and community for families.
Work Schedule and Environment
The position offers flexibility in work style, with a mix of remote and on-site responsibilities. However, regular in-person attendance is essential on most Sunday mornings and at other times as determined with the Director of Lifespan Faith Development.
Skills & Qualifications – Required
- Must be at least 18 years old to work in children’s ministry; 25 years old if working directly with teenagers
- Must be able to obtain required PA clearances (we will assist in the process, if needed)
- High level of self-motivation, strong organizational skills, creativity, and flexibility
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with children, youth, parents, and volunteers
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Skills & Qualifications – Preferred
- Familiarity with Unitarian Universalist values, principles, and culture
- 2–4 years of relevant formal education or equivalent life/work experience
- Familiarity with anti-bias and inclusive educational practices
- Experience in coordinating and supporting volunteers
Employment Details
- Reports to the Director of Learning & Family Ministries
- Part-time, Non-exempt position
- $25/Hour, budgeted up to 20 hours/week; hours may vary weekly and seasonally based on program needs
- Prorated health, dental, LTD, and life insurance plus 401K when qualified
- Start date: Nov. 1, 2025
