Hello, friends.
Rev. John here. I had such a warm welcome when I was back in the pulpit, metaphorically speaking, because I was still in this wheelchair with my leg extended and as I heel from this broken knee that I suffered from over the summer.
The rehab has been long, but it is going to be successful and I’ll soon be back up on two legs, walking around and being my usual active self.
This congregation has been absolutely amazing in reaching out to Frances and I with food and love and labor. I can’t express how much love we have felt being a part of this wonderful congregation.
This is a caring community, and you all have proven that over and over again.
I will continue to be in the pulpit when I can in the wheelchair as long as the doctor says I have to be, and as soon as I can get up and move around a little bit, believe me, I’ll move from walker to cane to two legs. I am looking forward to that very much, but it was wonderful just to be back in your presence.
Please come to church and join us for what is absolutely a wonderful spiritual awakening happening in the midst of all this rancor and all this heartache and all this pain. We can be an example for the rest of the world, what true community looks like, what sacred community looks like.
We can go join together in spirit and in love and know that we are making a small bit of difference in this world.
See you soon. Bye.
