MLUC partners with nonprofits, government agencies, and interfaith groups to increase our collective impact on Housing Justice.
COMMUNITY ALLIANCES
Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania
The Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania is a statewide coalition working to provide leadership and a common voice for policies, practices, and resources to ensure that all Pennsylvanians, especially those with low incomes, have access to safe, decent, and affordable homes. The Housing Alliance advocates for more effective public policy and increased funding, especially at the state level. They research and promote smart practices at the local level, informed in part by those with lived experience of housing instability and homelessness. They also engage and organize meetings with the organizations and local governments that are delivering direct housing services. MLUC is a member of the Housing Alliance.
The Bucks-Mont Collaborative addresses health and human services issues in Bucks and Montgomery counties through education, collaboration, and advocacy. MLUC is a member of the Collaborative. We take part in its Advocacy Network, which works on improving public policy and getting legislation passed to support housing affordability and behavioral health at both the state and local levels.
Montgomery County Office of Housing and Community Development
MLUC has built and maintains lines of communication with Montgomery County’s OHCD, which is the government agency responsible for developing and implementing programs for housing, community, and economic development within Montgomery County. We strive to ground our action and advocacy work in a clear understanding of conditions in the County, and the work that OHCD does to address them.
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Pottstown
MLUC is building a working partnership with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Pottstown to address affordable housing and homelessness issues in the Pottstown area, initially focusing our efforts on supporting Pottstown Beacon of Hope.
