This is a moment that calls us to put our faith into action in bold and concrete ways. In a world that is aching, our faith invites us to keep lifting up human dignity and Beloved Community, and to live those commitments in deep, shared action.

In worship on Sunday, we shared some exciting news: we are creating a new full‑time Social Justice Director position.

Your energy, creativity, and commitment around environmental justice, housing, broader human needs, and other emerging efforts are calling us into deeper, connected engagement. This new role will help weave these ministries – and new ones still to come – together, and strengthen our relationships in the wider community. Working closely with Rev. John, our staff and lay leaders, this position will also deepen and sustain our shared justice work throughout our worship, learning, caring, and public advocacy.

We are able to launch this position with support from our Innovation Fund, along with the additional generosity we anticipate in the upcoming annual fund drive. We offer deep gratitude to our Innovation Fund contributors, whose gifts are making this possible.

There is growing new energy for this work. Our new Justice Team met for the first time on Sunday, shared priorities and prior experiences, and is already moving toward concrete actions. Be sure to join the next Justice Team meeting on Sunday, Feb. 22 to learn more about the direction and help shape future decisions.

We are now forming a search team and will share more about the process soon. The full position description is available on our website here. Please share this opportunity within your networks and with anyone you think might be a good fit for this role.

With love at the center, let’s boldly bring our courage, power and hope to the places where we can make a greater impact.
