The holiday season is here, and as I reflect on this time of year, I want to share a heartfelt note with you. For many, this is a season of joy and celebration, but I know it can also bring a mix of emotions—stress, uncertainty, or even anxiety, especially when family gatherings are involved. If you’re feeling this way, know you’re not alone. I hope these gentle reminders help you care for yourself and find moments of peace, whatever this season brings.

Set Boundaries: Remember, “No” is a complete sentence. You never owe anyone an explanation for protecting your well-being. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do—for yourself and others—is to kindly set limits, even with those you care about.

Loving from Afar: It’s perfectly okay to love people from a distance. If being around someone feels too difficult this holiday season, sending them loving thoughts while keeping your space is a valid and healthy choice.

Self-Care: Make space for the little things that bring you joy. Whether it’s savoring your favorite treat, taking a peaceful walk, curling up with a good book, propping up your feet, or enjoying your favorite show, give yourself permission to enjoy what lights you up.

Chosen Family Is Family: Remember, family isn’t just about blood. Friends, pets, and our wider community can be sources of deep love and support. You are surrounded by more care than you may realize.

It’s Okay to Ask for Help: If you find yourself struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You’re never alone—sometimes the bravest step is letting someone know you need a little support. Call, email, or connect with our Congregational Care Ministry Team if you’re unsure where to turn.
