Hello, friends,

Henry Zink, our Youth Ministry Coordinator, is beginning a full-time internship working as a school psychologist this fall AND will complete his dissertation and defense this year. These are major life and work commitments, and so Henry has decided to resign from the Youth Ministry Coordinator position effective Sept. 1. Henry has been wonderful to work with and has helped our youth and youth group through some really significant maturational growth.  We will miss him in this role! You may be happy (as I am) to know that because of his personal connection with our congregation, he does plan to keep being involved here in other ways.

The Children and Youth Faith Development Team, Rev. John, the Board, and I need to be in conversation about the best way to move forward after this change. It’s important to find just the right person for a position like this one (we were so lucky to have Henry these past two years!), and there are different ways we could configure staffing to best meet the congregation’s needs, depending on who we can find to join the staff team. We are still looking for a few additional youth advisor volunteers, so that youth programming can continue this fall as planned, with immediate leadership in September from me and Megan Capewell, our youth liaison from the Children & Youth Faith Development Team.

Please feel free to reach out to Megan, Rev. John, or me with any questions and concerns. We will recognize Henry in the worship service on Aug. 31, but it would also be lovely for Henry to receive your direct thanks and accolades. You can reach him here until the end of the month.

Thanks,
Director of Learning & Family Ministries Dawn Star Sarahs-Borchelt
