We’re looking for team members to help shape and support a new outreach initiative: the Green Conshy Collaborative. This pilot project will lead a community partnership promoting environmental action and sustainability in Conshohocken (“Conshy”). Beginning October 2025, MLUC will host monthly evening gatherings in Conshy focused on environmental education and climate action planning. The project brings together MLUC, the Borough of Conshohocken (through the mayor), local businesses, and residents to empower the community to take meaningful steps towards sustainability. It’s the first initiative funded by MLUC’s Innovation Fund, which makes this collaborative pilot possible.
Led by JB Hillman, with start-up support from Nathan Surles, the project needs three to four additional members to co-develop and support the monthly meetings. This includes helping plan and facilitate gatherings throughout the year.
If you’re interested in joining the team or would like to learn more, reach out to JB Hillman using this form.
The Green Conshy Collaborative represents a collaborative, mission-aligned opportunity for MLUC to expand its environmental leadership, deepen community relationships and engage with neighbors, businesses, and city officials through hands-on service and education focused on sustainability and holistic community development. Conshohocken was selected as the focus for this pilot because its initiators, JB Hillman and Nathan Surles, are residents of the community. Their local insight—along with JB Hillman’s personal commitment—brings both relevance and dedication to the initiative.
Evening sessions will offer a variety of formats—ranging from guest speakers and video screenings to reflections and collaborative planning meetings—with additional volunteer activities scheduled outside of these events.
Topics include: composting, CSAs, solar energy, the Homegrown National Park movement, and more. These monthly sessions will provide ongoing opportunities for connection, learning and local impact through environmental action in the Conshy area.
