SUMMARY:Role-Playing Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Meets most Second and Fourth Sundays \n\n\n\nSixth through twelfth graders are invited to join an ongoing tabletop role-playing adventure. Each week\, an intrepid band of players faces a monster or challenge that embodies the opposite of one of our Unitarian Universalists values—and together they figure out how to defeat it. Leading the quest is Dungeon Master Wolfgang Borchelt\, the storyteller who runs the adventure and plays every character the party meets. He’s been running games for 14 years and has been a Unitarian Universalist his whole life.

SUMMARY:Sunday Service
DESCRIPTION:THIS WEEK’S SERVICEComing Out\, Together \n\n\n\nOn National Coming Out Day\, members of MLUC’s Welcoming Congregation Team share personal stories of what coming out means to them as people of LGBTQ+ experience. And what does it mean to come out as a community? Maybe you picture kicking down the door\, like the figure Keith Haring drew for the first National Coming Out Day. Maybe you picture something slower and more layered. Both can be true. Through story\, music\, and presence\, we’ll explore and celebrate what these experiences mean for all of us\, centered in love. \n\n\n\nMusic: The MLUC Choir and Band \n\n\n\nABOUT THE SERVICE \n\n\n\nWeekly Sunday services are at 10 a.m. \n\n\n\nA typical service will last about 60 minutes. Join us in person or virtually on YouTube. \n\n\n\nChildcare and activities for all ages are available during the service. \n\n\n\nMusic at our Sunday services draws from many sources\, ranging from traditional classical music to jazz\, folk\, world music\, klezmer\, and rock. \n\n\n\nHang around after the service to meet new people during coffee hour. \n\n\n\nLEARN MORE

SUMMARY:Dave Nachmanoff and Liz Bligan in Concert—A Benefit for PALS Cat Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of folk and folk-rock with award-winning singer-songwriter Dave Nachmanoff\, joined by vocalist Liz Bligan and special guest Carl Bligan. Every dollar of ticket sales goes directly to PALS. \n\n\n\nDave brings decades of songwriting\, several albums\, and phenomenal guitar work to the stage. For 17 years he toured with Al Stewart—of “Year of the Cat” and “Time Passages” fame—as Al’s lead guitarist and opening act. Liz Bligan has been singing all her life\, in choirs and as a soloist\, and has recorded with Dave and Al on three of Dave’s albums\, including one about to be released. \n\n\n\nPALS is a cat rescue and no-kill shelter that takes in some of the worst cases of abuse and injury and provides the veterinary care that saves their lives. Critical cases and food shortages arrive faster than the funding does. Your ticket helps close that gap. \n\n\n\nTickets: $30 in advance\, $35 at the door (cash only)

SUMMARY:Monthly Mortality Musing
DESCRIPTION:Greeley Library \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMortality Musings offers a welcoming space to share thoughts and stories\, ask questions\, explore doubts and fears\, and engage with topics related to our mortality. These gatherings are open to anyone curious about the subject\, not just those facing end-of-life concerns. \n\n\n\nEach session will begin with a covenant\, a brief centering practice\, and a few moments of silence. The facilitator Sue Compton will offer a prompt to start the conversation\, which will then unfold organically. These evenings are intentionally unstructured so participants can shape the discussion together.  \n\n\n\nREGISTERRegistration is appreciated but not required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE FACILITATOR \n\n\n\nSue Compton is a lay chaplain at MLUC and a certified death doula. A caregiver by nature and by trade\, she raised four children and spent more than 20 years as a nanny caring for other families. She completed death doula training with Going with Grace in 2025 and holds proficiency certification through the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance. She volunteers with hospice locally. Being present for the deaths of both of her parents—two very different experiences—drew her to this work\, which she approaches with an open heart and genuine curiosity. LEARN MORE | CONTACT SUE

SUMMARY:The Witching Hour—a Horror Concert for Halloween
DESCRIPTION:The demon Elf King gives chase to a boy and his father on horseback. Baba Yaga contorts and crawls from beneath the earth to curse a grieving widow. Witches perform ritual sacrifice to consort with the Devil. And a young boy encounters the undead\, following the sound of a steam engine coming from the woods of Chester County\, Pennsylvania. Halloween is just around the corner\, and the MLUC Music Staff is already in a frightening mood! Join violinist David Brown\, soprano Kaitlyn Waterson\, and pianist Jodie Brown for an evening of horror music by Sergei Prokofiev\, Ture Rängstrom\, and David Brown. \n\n\n\nDiscretion is advised for families with younger children because of frightening themes.
