MLUC revised its Safe Congregation plans in late 2018. We aligned our policies with new state laws regarding background checks and reporting of child abuse or neglect and incorporated a variety of other policies previously adopted piecemeal. We also revived the Congregational Response Team to provide leadership in any situation where there is a report of abuse or neglect, a disruptive incident, or another safety concern in the congregation. The Congregational Response Team consists of the Senior Minister, the Director of Lifespan Religious Education, the Board President, and one other trusted member (this year its Don Walker.) We encourage every member to read through the policies, and we are available to discuss them or any safety concerns you may have at any time.
